Garden Club holds meeting

LOTTSVILLE — The Garden Club meeting was held recently at the Lottsville United Methodist Church.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Lander. Peg Stino, president, welcomed those attending to the group’s second, a “Christmas in July” meeting. She thanked the hostesses and the church for hosting. She informed everyone of the passing of member Irene Berg and also of the passing of a member’s mother. The club is still observing precautions by social distancing and bringing masks and picnic lunches. Stino led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and Donna Lundmark read the devotions. Lundmark read a story by Heather King on the need to trim tomato plants to have it produce more fruit. The group then halunches and had Klondike bars provided by the committee..

There were 13 members attending.

It had been suggested to Stino that meetings be canceled until the pandemic was over, but members present felt they should continue and take precautions. A pavilion was offered for the August meeting.

It was suggested that one of the speakers for the cancelled meetings be contacted to see if they would be interested.

Members will be contacted with the information on the meeting.

Christmas gifts were exchanged and members played candy bar bingo.
