Martz-Kohl Observatory is participating in GiveBigCHQ

FREWSBURG, N.Y. — The Martz-Kohl Observatory is one of 95 Chautauqua County organizations participating in GiveBigCHQ, sponsored by the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua community foundations.

The fundraising event, normally reserved for 24 hours, has been expanded this year, running from through June 11. The Give Big CHQ Chautauqua event uses an online platform that allows those within the community to donate funds to various nonprofit organizations. The online fundraising platform can be accessed at, https://www.givebigchq.org/organizations/martz-kohl-observatory.

“This is a resource unique to the entire region, and we want to share it with everybody,” said Gary Nelson, president of the Martz-Kohl Astronomical Observatory. “The Martz-Kohl Astronomical Observatory is dedicated to learning and discovery for students from grammar school through college, and for the general public.”

The Martz-Kohl Observatory is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization and houses one of the largest public robotic telescopes in Western New York. The observatory can be contacted at 569-3689. More information can be accessed at the observatory web site, martzobservatory.org or its Facebook page, Martz Observatory.
