Golden anniversary set for couple

Todd and Patty Briggs will celebrate a 50-year wedding anniversary on Saturday.

The couple was married June 6, 1970, at the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville Pa. The couple met while attending Youngsville High School. They were high school sweethearts — then and now. They have three children Carrie (Brad) Madison of New Jersey, Chrissy (Steve) of Bemus Point, N.Y., and Brodie (Dee) of Erie as well as 10 grandchildren.

Their love for each other has proven strong as they built several homes and businesses during the 50 years. Standing beside each other each step of the way.

They have resided in Lottsville, Sugar Grove, Erie, Waterford, Bemus Point and Fort Myers. The couple established Todd’s Gas Buggies, Cummings & Briggs Auctioneers, Sweet Town Video and the Greater Erie Auto Auction.

Todd and Patty retired in 2015 and enjoy time on their boat, in their motor home, Corvette, on the golf course and time with their family. Luckily, considering the current quarantine, their family celebrated their golden anniversary in January with an overnight stay at the Harbor Hotel in Celoron N.Y. by eating, drinking, hugging, kissing and a photo shoot.

As restaurants are still not open, they will celebrate with their family Saturday tail-gate style with take-out dinner at Bemus Point Golf Course.
