Submitted photos High school students within the Warren County School District are participating in a virtual art show.

It’s not the best time for a gallery show.

But, Warren County School District high school students are participating in an art show anyway.

Submitted works from dozens of students populate a virtual art show.

Judges from outside of Warren County evaluated the entries and assigned the top three places and an honorable mention for each grade and selected a Best of Show.

Ruby Alburger, a freshman at Warren Area High School, was awarded Best of Show for Ethan Nestor.

Among the seniors, first place was awarded to Cleo Kendrick of Youngsville High School, for Cloud; Morgan Genung of Eisenhower High School took second for Sweet Apple; Ashley Hall of Eisenhower won third for Peaceful Pittsburgh; and Hope Hefright of Eisenhower won an honorable mention for Paralysis.

The junior class award winners were Jesse Campbell of Sheffield High School (first); Serenity Eggleston of Warren (second); Ellie Strausser of Eisenhower (third); and Delaney Chase of Eisenhower (honorable mention).

Sophomores Anna Lookenhouse of Sheffield (first); Madeline Roell of Sheffield (second); Alix Lytle of Warren (third); and Kira Johnson of Sheffield (honorable mention); took home the awards.

Joining Alburger among the freshmen winners were: Molly Pilling of Eisenhower (second); Alexis Littlefield of Sheffield (third); and Shyann Rulander of Warren (honorable mention).

The virtual opening for the show was attended by six district high school art teachers — Cindy Hartburg, Sheffield High School; Joie Hendricks, Warren Area High School; Becky Yeager, Youngsville High School; and Jessica McElhaney, Eisenhower Middle High School, as well as Heather Walters, Youngsville High School, and Andrew Pollard, Eisenhower Middle High School.

Public voting for People’s Choice will be open through June 1.

Results will be posted on the Warren County School District Facebook page and website.
