Produce Express of First Lutheran Church, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, distributed more than 5,000 pounds of food to 110 local families — including families of one — this month.

A distribution was held on Thursday, April 16, and included fruits and vegetables, meat, canned goods, juice, bread, and even sweets — while they were available, according to a release from Second Harvest.

“Second Harvest works in collaboration with churches and organizations in Warren County to help families stretch their food dollars,” according to the release.

Second Harvest locations in Warren County include Produce Express through First Lutheran and other churches; Food Pantry through First Church of the Nazarene; the Soup Kitchen through St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; and senior boxes through various organizations.

Information about Second Harvest, including locations and qualification requirements, can be found by visiting nwpafoodbank.org or calling (814) 459-3663.
