YHS alumni scholarships

Since its inception in 1985, the YHS Alumni Scholarship Fund has awarded over $184,000 to 188 graduating seniors from Youngsville High School. The first award given in 1986 was for $750. Because of the support of the community, former students, friends and families the awards have increased steadily. At the Youngsville High School 2019 graduation ceremony, 14 students were each awarded a $1,333 scholarship. The award is sent directly to the school, college, or university after the completion of a successful first semester of studies.

In these confusing times, the scholarship committee wants the community to know it will still honor its commitment to the 2020 senior class of Youngsville High School. In January of this year, every senior at YHS should have received an application and letter from the Alumni Scholarship Committee promising to award a minimum of $1,000 to each qualifying student who applied for a scholarship. All applications and essays need to be completed by May 1, 2020, and either returned to the guidance office (if school is reopened) or mailed to YHS Alumni Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 73, Youngsville, Pa 16371. High school transcripts do not need to be included at this time.

Application information can be found on the Warren County School District/YHS website, or call Sue Perrin at (814) 563-7903.
