Photo submitted to Times Observer From left are Stephanie Freitag, Auxiliary Vice President; Mary Beyer, Auxiliary Scholarship Chair; Alisa Wagner, former WGH Auxiliary Healthcare Scholarship recipient and currently a WGH Rehab Works Occupational Therapist; and, Debbie Olson, Auxiliary Board Member.

The Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors is again awarding scholarships to Warren County residents currently enrolled full-time in courses leading to certification and/or licensure in a professional health care field.

Among the many medical fields considered for a WGH Auxiliary scholarships are physician, optometry, psychology, nursing, medical technician, OT, and PT.

Two health care courses must be part of the curriculum each semester.

The money can be used for tuition, room, board and/or books.

Applicants denied scholarships in a previous year are encouraged to reapply if their status now meets the required criteria.

To begin the scholarship application process, applicants must submit a typewritten introductory letter that includes the following information: (1) interest in the health care field; (2) financial need; (3) experience, if any, in the health care field; (4) volunteer and employment experience; and (5) when and where training will take place. If all criteria are met, an official application will then be sent to the applicant. This information must be mailed to the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board President, postmarked on or before Friday, March 17, 2020. No hand-delivered letters will be accepted. Promptness is vitally important and no letters will be considered after the deadline. Address all correspondence to Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board President, 2 Crescent Park West, P.O. Box 68, Warren, PA 16365.
