Photo submitted to Times Observer The Tidioute Community Charter School’s National Elementary Honor Society held its 11th annual Troop Collection to gather items for local troops who are currently serving our country. The NEHS members work along with the local VFW Ladies Auxiliary members to collect and sort items for the Troop Box Program. The NEHS students and NEHS advisors, Mrs. Guerra and Miss Hicks, presented over 3,000 items that were donated, to the VFW Auxiliary President, Bonnie Fox and the Military Troop Box Chairman, Doris Svitek.. This program has been a great success, and is made possible by the kindness and generosity of the TCCS students and their families, staff members, and surrounding community.

Spelling Bee

The Warren County Spelling Bee was postponed Thursday due to a weather-related two-hour delay in Warren County School District. The bee will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Beaty-Warren Middle School, unless there is a school delay or cancellation.

National Forge retirees

All National Forge retirees are invited to breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Richard’s Restaurant in Youngsville.

Fourth of July meeting

The Warren County Fourth of July Organization will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church. The Organization is looking for new members to attend.

Sheffield Cemetery

The Sheffield Cemetery Association Sexton and Board of Directors remind lot owners to remove their wreaths off the graves by March 1.

Also, starting Monday, Feb. 10, the cemetery gate will once again be locked from dusk to dawn. Do not drive on unplowed roads!
