4-H Sanford Saddles & Spurs meet Feb. 9

The Sanford Saddles and Spurs 4-H club met on February 9 at the Grand Valley Church.

Brooke Anthony gave a presentation on the digestive system of the horse. Nora Morton gave a presentation on horse feeds and grains. Hialeah Stanton gave a presentation on What Judges Look for When Judging Rabbits. Meadow Sheckler gave a presentation on Parts of the Western Saddle and Bridle.

The club discussed and voted to do paper clovers at Tractor Supply in Warren at the beginning of May.

Members also decided to do a sub fundraiser again in April.

Members discussed possibly doing a painting party fundraiser, but have not finalized the details yet

Members also discussed starting to do some mounted practices to help prepare for roundup.

Club apparel may be ordered again this spring.

A club community service project will be held at The Rouse Home at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, and the club will be doing a presentation to the Development Council at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.

Some 4-H members will be doing 4-H presentations to the Kiwanis Club on March 7.

The dates for Equine Affaire, April 2 to 5, were shared with the club, but we are not going to this event as a club this year.

The club enjoyed a snack and then a game.

The next meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Grand Valley Church. Anyone who would like more information about the club can contact Matt and Diana Maille at 436-7778.
