Have a chat over ‘Coffee With a Cop’

The City of Warren Police Department and White Cane Coffee are hosting Coffee with a Cop.

The events will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Fridays, Jan. 24, Feb. 21, March 20, and April 24, at White Cane Coffee, 2 E. Third Ave., Warren. “Come enjoy a cup of coffee with the officers of your police department.”

“I viewed this as an opportunity to get the community together with the officers that serve them daily,” Sgt. Jeff Dougherty said. “What better way to do that than over a cup of coffee? I approached White Cane Coffee because they are a local business and their motto is ‘coffee brings people together.'”

Officers will not discuss current nor past cases.

“This will be a time for citizens to show up, have a cup of coffee and socialize with your local police officers,” Dougherty said. “It’s that time of the year where cabin fever seems to set in and we all get a little stir crazy. If this event helps people get out, socialize and meet us, we’re doing our job.”
