Henry Landers, 3, could hardly “beelieve” how many bees were hard at work in the hive. He seemed a bit “beewitched” as he put his hands, and even his face, right up against the display.

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Audrey Cable was first and Marjorie Polito was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Connie Lucia and Laurie Curren were first and second. Connie Michell placed first Thursday evening at the library with Marjorie Polito in second.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will meet from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Johnsonburg Fire Hall for its 20th-anniversary celebration. Sponsored by John Berne and NCPS Polka Boosters Club, Squeezebox — Mollie B, and Ted Lange will be performing. There will be music for all types of dancing, and the public is invited.
