The Allegheny Community Center promotes healthy lifestyles by providing a wide variety of activities, classes, programs and meal options for the community in Warren and Forest Counties. The donation made by Seneca will help to continue these programs and activities.

Class lunch

The 1947 Class of Warren High School will meet for lunch on Friday, July 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the Peppermill.

of ’73 will be having breakfast at The Bucket Cafe in Sugar Grove at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.

Photos submitted to Times Observer North Warren Presbyterian Church will host its 11th annual Vacation Bible School Day Camp from July 29 through August 2 — from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day for children ages 4 through 12. This year’s theme is Jesus Teaches Us With Stories, which focuses on several parables of Jesus from the gospels. The camp will have lessons, singing, stories, recreation, and guest speakers each day. Water day, below, is scheduled on Friday. There is no cost to attend, but registration is encouraged by July 28 to ensure space. A free hot dog picnic will take place in the North Warren Park Pavilion at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 28, where parents/guardians can register their children. Registration forms may also be downloaded from the church’s website at www.nwpchurch.org. North Warren Presbyterian Church is located at 200 S. State St. and the phone number is 723-5060 for further information.

Ruffed Grouse Society Fun Lunch

The Mt. Jewett Sportsmen’s Club will host the Allegheny Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society for their Annual Fun Lunch on Saturday, August 3, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Division Street Extension in Mt. Jewett.

The afternoon consists of lunch, raffles, auctions, and friendship.

A special presentation on a unique project to save hobblebush for wildlife will be given by local naturalist John Dzemyan at 1:15 p.m.

The Annual Fun Lunch of the Allegheny Chapter is open to any person interested in wildlife habitats, particularly those of birds.

“We use the Fun Lunch as our way to celebrate our habitat work, our Women’s shooting program, our new hunter program, and our bird dog challenges,” said Jeff Yeager, president of the Allegheny Chapter.

Farmers Market Vouchers

Farmers Market Vouchers are available to Warren/Forest county residents, age 60 and older who meet income guidelines. Bring a copy of a POA form with you if you are signing for a participant. Income guidelines: Single $23,107; Couple $31,284. ID with birth date is required.

Dates are June 18 at the Allegheny Community Center from 1:30 to 3 p.m.; and, June 31 at the Allegheny Community Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Results from Monday night duplicate bridge held at Warren YMCA were:

1st-Robert Greco and Matt Oram with 30;

2nd-Diane Callahan and Marge Polito with 29.5;

3rd-Barb Johnson and Patricia Raub with 27.5.

The Warren County Democrats will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Jefferson DeFrees Center, 207 Second Ave., Warren.
