Sunshine and 80-something-degree temperatures turned Friday into the perfect day for frolicking in the water.
Some even spent the pre-lunch hours learning proper frolicking techniques as they took swimming lessons at Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool.
The Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool Recreation Area is located on Thatchers Lane and is open to the public.
Hours for the pool are Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., and again from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It is open from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The cost varies from $1 for non-swimmers to $5 for adults. Admission to the kiddy pool is free. Evening rates are reduced to $2.50 beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Swimmercise classes are $6 per person.
There will be a Luau held at the pool on Friday, July 12, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $3 per person or $10 for a family. Hot dogs will be served.
