April 13: Garland Presbyterian Church Annual First Day of Trout Season Chicken BBQ, 3915 Route 27, Garland; noon until sold out; 1/2 BBQ Chicken, baked beans, choice of mac salad, potato salad or baked potato, Roll $10. Chicken only $6.

April 13: Benefit Chicken and Biscuits Dinner, Russell United Methodist Church, 4 to 7 p.m. Eat in or take out available. Cost by donation. Proceeds to the Cozy Quilt Ministry, providing warmth and comfort to cancer patients.

April 13: Sheffield VFD Soup & Sub Sale, 9 a.m.

April 13: Underwater Egg Hunt, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Warren County YMCA. Swim in the pool and hunt for Easter eggs above and below water. Kids will collect eggs in the pool and redeem them for goodies. Children of all swimming abilities are welcomed. If your child wears a bubble or puddle jumper, they are required to have an adult in the water with them. Ages 3-5 swim from 11:30 a.m. to noon and ages 6-11 swim from noon to 12:30 p.m. $4 for members, $8 non-members.

April 18: Warren Garden Club’s next regular meeting will be held at the Warren Public Library, Slater Room, 3rd floor, 1 p.m.

April 18: Zem-Zem Warren County Shire Club Annual Stag Oyster Party, 5 p.m., Youngsville Fire Hall. Contact Mark at Warren Radiator 723-1150, Rick at Route 6 Auto Sales 563-7504 or your local Shriner for tickets.

May 5: Silver Winds Flute Choir presents Sounds of Spring, 4 p.m. First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren. Free concert (donations accepted).

May 18-19: Quilters’ Night Out Spring Quilt Show, “ABC’s of Quilting,” Warren Area Elementary Center; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $4 (no charge for students).

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays: Have You Visited the Book Cellar? In the lower level of the Warren Public Library. Selection of books for children, Teens, and adults, plus DVDs & puzzles; priced from $.25- $4. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Thursdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or whenever you see Sherm the Book Worm flying outside.
