Music on the Mountain planned for July 26

The hills will come alive with the sounds of music for the fifth year in a row.

Sheffield is set to host its annual Music on the Mountains at 7 p.m. July 26 at Sheffield High School.

The lineup this year includes returning corps: Spartans, Nashua, N.H.; Legends, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Raiders, Burlington, N.J.; 7th Regiment, New London, Conn.; and Les Stentors, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

New corps joining the show this year include Southwind, Mobile, Ala.; Heat Wave, Cape Coral, Fla.; and all-age corp Cincinnati Tradition, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Music on the Mountain Chairman Art Lane said that “this show will be the only open class show in the state of PA. Johnsonburg decided not to continue their show this year.”

With the addition of more corps to the lineup and the discontinuation of Johnsonburg’s show, they “expect a pretty good crowd this year, adding a few more groups will make the show better than it was before,” he said.

There will be a raffle along with the show. Last year, the Sheffield hosts gave away Steelers tickets. However, this year’s prize is still in the works.

There will also be an addition of more concessions on the field this year with more items to purchase than last year.

Online ticket sales should be posted on the show’s website, sheffieldmusiconthemountain.com, within the next month. Ticket sales to the general public in places such as pharmacies are not expected to go on sale until June 1.

Presale tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Ticket costs at the gate will be $15 for adults and $10 for students.

More information concerning this year’s Music on the Mountain show will be posted to the show’s website as the show date gets closer.
