Hooktown Holidays, Inc. board adds 3

The board members of Hooktown Holidays, Inc. met at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church on December 28.

Pearson proposed three new board members — Jamie Sitler, Micah Caldwell, and Sharon Persing.

Board member Tina Ziegler, who was not in attendance, is on the scholarship committee. Sitler will be treasurer. Persing volunteered to be recording secretary.

Pearson reported that the annual garage sale netted approximately $20,000 this year.

Organizations which will receive donations from Hooktown Holidays, Inc. of a balance of $15,000 include:

*Salvation Army, $1,800 (previously $2,500);

*Produce Express, $1,080 (will finance for 3 months);

*St. Joseph Soup Kitchen, $2,200;

*WIC funds (available as needed);

*House of Hope, $500;

*KIN (Kids in Need);

*The Sharing Place, $1,800;

*Tidioute Charter School, $1,000 (funds for students);

*Veterans Emergency Fund, $1,500;

*Warren County School District Food Pantries, $3,000 (backpack program);

*Experience, Inc., $500;

*Scholarships, $1,500 (previously $2,000).

The new budget was proposed by Pearson.

Persing mentioned the need for bus passes for people to attend scheduled appointments. She will call TAWC for information.

Caldwell volunteered to check with The Salvation Army concerning winter jacket distribution.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church.
