Caitlin Strassburg, a junior at Warren Area High School, has recently been accepted into the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences program that is hosted at Carnegie Mellon University. This is an intense five-week program, in which selected students attend lectures and participate in labs as well as team projects. This program is incredibly prestigious, and Caitlin is the first student in the Warren County School District to be accepted into the program since 2002. It is a huge honor to be one of the few selected students from a pool that spans statewide. However, participating in college classes will not be new for Caitlin, as she is participating in the St. Bonaventure Dual Enrollment program offered at the high school. Caitlin aspires to major in biochemistry while in college, and this program will greatly help her achieve that goal.
