Warren’s Darling learns from Radio City Rockettes

Emma Darling

Emma Darling recently attended the Rockettes Summer Intensive in New York City.

The Rockette Summer Intensive is an audition-based dance program designed for advanced dancers who want to train in the Rockette style.

Entering its 15th season, this summer dance intensive has produced more than 60 Rockettes.

The Rockettes reflect individual talent, hard work, athleticism, training, teamwork and dazzling synchronicity whenever they perform. This program offers aspiring dancers the unique opportunity to train with the Rockettes, and a Rockette Director/Choreographer, learning their world famous precision dance technique. This distinct style transcends a multitude of dance disciplines, including jazz, tap, musical theater, lyrical and the legendary Kickline.

Darling is the daughter of Chris and Kirsten Darling and will be a junior at Warren Area High School. She is entering her 15th year of dance at Linda Dies’ Dance Studio, where she has been a member of Molly Dies’ Dance Express Company for seven years.

Darling said she felt extremely prepared for the vigorous schedule and intense training that the week entailed. She said Molly Dies has prepared her to achieve her goals through dedication, desire and discipline.

She auditioned in January in Pittsburgh and was accepted to attend in June.
