The 13th Annual Zavinski Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Sunday, May 28, at Jackson Valley Golf Course. This tournament is held each year over Memorial Day weekend and helps to benefit a scholarship fund for graduating Warren County high school senior boys and girls who participated in varsity sports and will be furthering their education. Two students are selected, one boy and one girl, based on the two essays submitted, “What have you learned most from high school sports,” and “Where do you see yourself in 10 years,” along with financial need.

Tournament participation along with donations from local businesses are the primary source of the scholarship funding.

This year, the Warren Elks Club donated $5,000, allowing the scholarship fund to grow and provide a total of eight $1,000 scholarships to one boy and one girl from each of the four local high schools.

This scholarship wouldn’t be possible without the participation at the golf tournament and the donations made by local businesses, including Huber Blacktop, Fibro Tool & Gage, Jones Chevrolet, Loranger International, Mangione Beverage, Northwest Bank, Peppermill, Pipeworks, Shear Madness, Tall Tales, Lewis Funeral Home, KCS Energy, A&B Heating, Ace Hardware, Bob Hoffner Excavating, Phillips Building Systems, Cornerstone Lounge, Howard Hanna, John Anderson Construction, Mark Silvis, R.E. Baker & Sons, Warren Glass, Andy and Kristy Hanks, The Reynolds Family, and Munksgard Service, Inc.

Starting at $3.50/week.
