‘Celebrating 70 years of Spirit & Tradition’

The celebration opens at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Music in the Park venue at the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. West and Hickory Street in downtown Warren. The feature band will be Two For Flinching.

Sunday, July 2, events begin at 2 p.m. on Liberty St., also in downtown Warren. The afternoon will be filled with music, entertainment, a Kids Zone, food, and craft vendors. The feature band will be Porcelain Bus Drivers. There will also be face painting, bounce houses, a karaoke contest, a baking contest, pinewood derby races, and more.

The celebration continues from 1 to 11 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Betts Park on Warren’s west end of town. Events include a cutest baby contest, two performances by the Allegheny River Dancers, Mick Hayes opening at 4 p.m. for feature band Madison Rising, plus several food and craft vendors, and games. At 10 p.m., Gibson Fireworks Co. will present the 70th annual fireworks display. This year’s display will be set to music and can be heard on the radio.

The 70th Annual 4th of July Parade will begin with trhe pre-parade show at 9 a.m. and features six drum and bugle corps in an exhibition. The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. and features a Shriners Point Parade with at least 20 Shriners units participating. The parade will also feature 10 marching bands, several floats, drill and dance teams, fire trucks, color guards, and more.

Following the parade will be the grand prize drawing with a $5,000 top prize plus 40 plus other prizes. Tickets will go on sale May 1 at the following locations:

Gaughn’s Drug Store, Still House, Vir-Ann’s Flower Shop, Choice, Warren Tire Center, American Legion, Second Avenue Exchange, Bullpen, Eagles, Howe’s True Value, Suppa’s Garagem Walmart, Shurfine, and Ace Hardware.

Bleacher tickets for the pre-parade show and then parade are available at Vir-Ann’s and Kersey and Associates.
