Chautauqua Chamber Singers present ‘Twelfth Night…’

The Chautauqua Chamber Singers, under the direction of Rebecca Ryan, and accompanied by Brian Bogey, will present “Twelfth Night — The Sound of Spirit” on Saturday, Jan. 7, at First Lutheran Church in Warren and Sunday, Jan. 8, at First Presbyterian in Jamestown, N.Y., at 4 p.m. for both concerts.

The concert will feature Shelby Maberry, a 2013 Southwestern graduate who is now a vocal performance major at Mercyhurst University in Erie. Maberry will be performing two selections from John Rutter’s ‘Magnificat’

The costumed Chautauqua Chamber Singers processing in candlelight, with a bagpipe prelude, and supported by traditional readings, will perform choral music both new and old.

This concert has become for many a traditional ending of the Christmas season.  Included in the concert will be ‘Once in a Royal David City“, “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebel, and “A Carol” by Roland E. Martin.

A pie reception, hosted by the Chautauqua Chamber Singers will follow each performance.

Pre-sale ticket prices are as follows: adult, $10; senior citizens, $9; and student, $5. Children under 15 are admitted for free. At the door, prices are: adult and senior, $13; and student, $5.  You can purchase tickets from any member of chamber singers, call the CMP office at 664-2227 and leave a message, or visit communitymusicproject.com. Reserved tickets will be held at will call the day of the concert.
