For Chrissy Briggs that change took place when her family’s commercial rental property in Sugar Grove opened up. Initially her family had made the decision to sell. Briggs, taking it as a sign, said “No, no wait” and after more than 20 years of commuting to Erie, Pa., for work made the decision to open That Farm Market and get back to her hometown roots.
Located at the Warren Road intersection in downtown Sugar Grove, and open seven days a week, That Farm Market is just as sweet as it can be. Bringing in local fruits and vegetables she purchases from the Chautauqua County Produce Auction that is largely grown on Amish farms and backfilling with produce from Brigotta’s, customers will find a rainbow of fresh options at the market.
In addition to regularly available local produce, Briggs is selling meats, cheeses and spreads produced in Cuba, N.Y., as well as crispy pickles and pre-assembled produce baskets. Farm fresh eggs are also available as well as Sugar Grove honey and Red’s Best maple syrup. Fresh flowers from grower Allen Scott in Lottsville, Pa., are available while the store also has a selection of novelty and one of a kind items.
That Farm Market is also selling ice cream with outdoor seating available while a musical performer is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday.
