Department of Labor & Industry breaking down unemployment claims

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has developed an unemployment dashboard.

The material is broken down by county and provides weekly data regarding claims and who is making them.

For the week ending May 16, there were 75 new claims in Warren County.

Of those, about 59 percent were filed by men, more than half were filed by people ages 25 to 44, and one third were from manufacturing jobs.

There are just over 2,100 continued claims in the county.

The age distribution is much more event with ages 25 to 34, 35 to 44, 45 to 54, and 55 to 64, each showing a rate of between 19.4 percent and 22.3 percent.

Of the continuing claims, more were filed by women — at 54.4 percent.

The health care and social assistance field has the largest number of continued unemployment claims with 20.9 percent of the total. Retail trade is second at 15.1 percent.

The site is searchable by date and location and will show data for the whole state or individual counties.
