West Forest names new principal

Dean Hoffman

Dean Hoffman was recently hired as the new PK-12 principal at West Forest in Tionesta. Hoffman graduated from West Middlesex High School. He attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls where he graduated with a degree in History. He obtained his Special Education Certification from Millersville University and later completed his Masters in Educational Administration at Shippensburg University. Most recently, Hoffman completed his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility at Edinboro University.

During his career in education, Hoffman has taught for the Southeastern School District in York County, and in the Harrisburg City Schools. He has served as the principal of the Frew Mill School in New Castle, Supervisor of Special Education for the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, and Director of Special Education for the Moniteau School District.

Dean has been married for 28 years and has three sons. He played football, basketball, and baseball in high school and four years of baseball in college. He has served as both head baseball and football coach during his career. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and golfing.
