Warren resident to lead chapter of State CPA Association

Sally A. Hawkinson, a certified public accountant (CPA), was elected president of the Northwestern Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Hawkinson is a senior staff accountant at Kersey and Associates PC in Warren, where she specializes in business and large individual returns for multiple states. In addition to serving on PICPA Council, Hawkinson serves on the council for First Lutheran Church in Warren, as well as on its worship and music and finance committees. She also provides bookkeeping and computer and planning support for the Warren County 4th of July Organization, and serves as treasurer of the Hale Cemetery Association in Russell.

The Warren resident received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mercyhurst University.

Other 2018-2019 officers elected at PICPA’s Northwestern Chapter annual meeting on May 11 include the following:

President-Elect: Ross A. Lockwood, CPA, is controller for the Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville, Pa. In addition to his active involvement with the PICPA, Lockwood is a board member of the Meadville Public Library and a board member of the Crawford County Youth Soccer Association. The Meadville resident earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in management from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Secretary/Treasurer: Padraic D. McGrath, CPA, CGMA, is owner of Padraic McGrath CPA in Ridgway, and specializes in the areas of small business, not for profit, and individual finances. He is a member of the PICPA Professional Ethics Committee. In addition to his PICPA involvement, the Ridgway resident serves as treasurer of Northern Tier Community Action and is an actor for The Footlighters of Elk County. McGrath received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Edinboro University.
