A Sunday fire in a store at the Warren Mall appears to be a case of arson.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon.
“We were dispatched for a commercial fire at 4000 Market St. – Label Shopper at 3:20 p.m.,” North Warren Volunteer Fire Department Chief Shawn Jones said. “While en route, dispatch notified us that there was smoke and fire visible.”
The first units at the scene confirmed that report, he said.
Several people – store personnel and patrons – were inside the store at the time the fire broke out and were able to evacuate without injury, Jones said.
“We made entry through the front door with a 2.5-inch line and knocked down the fire quickly,” he said.
A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated the scene Monday and made a preliminary determination of arson, according to Conewango Township Police Officer Charlie Andersen.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Andersen at (814) 726-0725.
