Christian Women meet

The Nov. 9 meeting was held at Calvary Chapel in Russell. The spiritual speaker was Mardi Backstrom, Russell. She gave her testimony of her tumultuous childhood and early adult years that brought challenges and hardships that resulted in loss of hope. She explained how poor decisions are made from fear and desperation. She attended a retreat that led her back to God, and with His help she healed. She said there are troubles all around us, but God will give joy despite people’s circumstances. The December 14 gathering will be held at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, starting earlier at 11 a.m. in order for members to browse and participate in a Christmas Bazaar. Any guest may sell handmade items and crafts with 25% donation going to Village Missions. Guest speaker will be Stacey Rasmussen, director of Chautauqua County Compeer program. To participate in the bazaar and/or make reservations call Judy Crothers 814-723-7613 or Nancy Schuyler at 716-720-4410 by Dec. 11.
