Military Share

It’s time to help military families who are struggling to put nutritious food on the table.

“In Northwest Pennsylvania, nearly 18 percent of households receiving food assistance have at least one member who has served or is serving in the military,” according to a release from Second Harvest Food Bank.

At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, Second Harvest will hold a Military Share Produce Express event at the Warren County CBOC — Community Based Outpatient Clinic — on Farm Colony Drive.

Free fresh produce and other grocery products will be distributed to families that qualify on the basis of income.

The event is for “National Guard, Reservists, Active Military, and Veterans of any branch and their families,” according to the release.
