Heroes support group
The Heroes support group for parents of children with disabilities will meet Thursday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Jefferson Room of the Jefferson Defrees Family Center. The kid friendly meeting will offer activities for children. This month’s speakers will be Hillary Hubbell, Early Reach Coordinator, and Nichole Neukum, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. They will be discussing what services OVR has to offer and how to apply for services. They will outline the different services the program has to offer. support group
The Warren Parkinson’s Disease Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at CTI Physical Therapy, 2265 Market St. in Warren. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, families, and caregivers are invited to attend. For more information please call Shirlee at (814) 563-9493.

Homecoming
The Youngsville High School Student Council’s Homecoming Parade is this Wednesday, Oct. 24, starting at 6 p.m. The parade starts at the American Legion and makes its way to the high school — where the Homecoming Queen Crowning Ceremony will take place. Fall athletes will also be recognized and have their Pie Festival Celebration.

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Barbie Johnson came in first and Connie Michell was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Connie Michell and Marge Polito were first and second. Marge Polito placed first Thursday evening at the library with Connie Lucia in second.
Special screening of Angst
The public is invited to a special screening of the IndieFlix movie Angst from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Warren Area High School.
Angst is a 56-minute film that explores anxiety its causes, effects and what we can do about it. The film features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they’ve learned about it. It also includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources, and tools.
You are invited to come to WAHS to enjoy greek salad and macaroni & cheese donated by The Plaza at 6 p.m., followed by the film from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
