On May 18, Richard and Hazel La Carmen celebrated their birthdays together at Bear Lake Fire Hall.

Richard turned 90 in February and Hazel’s birthday is in June.

Richard is a WWII veteran.

There were approximately 75 people in attendance. The party was hosted and given by their children. In attendance were five children, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four siblings, and friends and family from Bear Lake, Columbus, Corry, Hermitage, Youngsville, Pittsfield, and Warren, and Jamestown and Sherman, N.Y.

Richard’s chocolate cake was provided by Rhea Moore from Sanders’ Bakery in Corry. Hazel’s raspberry-filled vanilla cake was provided by Marie Crosby from Ecklof’s Bakery in Jamestown, N.Y.

The children provided the appetizer buffet catered by Catering Plus LLC of Sugar Grove.

A side wall displayed many pictures of the couple’s life and family events.
