Jaquay, Black and Finch advance

Eisenhower’s Logan Jaquay picked up a decision win over Faith Christian’s Eric Alderfer, 8-2, in the quarterfinals of the 120-pound PIAA Class AA State Wrestling Championship and will face the defending state champion Sheldon Seymour of Troy in the semifinals. Seymour picked up a 3-0 decision over McDevitt’s Nate Smith.

Sheffield’s Ethan Finch continued on in the 182-pound consolation round of the PIAA Class AA State Wrestling Championship with a 4-2 decision over Huntingdon’s Myles Baney. Finch will face Jacob Feese from Line Mountain. Feese lost, 5-2, in the 182 quarterfinals to Austin Walley of Ellwood City.

Finch made quick work of his consolation round 3 opponent Feese, with a pin at the 1:53 mark of the first period. Finch will face Nate Wickersham of Tamaqua in consolation round 4. Wickersham won by decision over Riley Robell, Bishop McDevitt, 5-3.

Eisenhower’s Cael Black dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Duane Knisely from Chestnut Ridge in the quarterfinals of the PIAA AA 220 pound Wrestling Championship.

Black will face Evan Miller of Reynolds, who defeated Quincy Reinnagle of Middletown by major decision, 12-4. Black has faced Miller twice this postseason, picking up 3-2 decisions each time.

Black picked up a 3-2 decision over Evan Miller, Reynolds to advance to the fourth round of the consolation finals. Black will face a familiar face in Maplewood’s Joey Ryan. Black and Ryan have faced off twice this postseason with Ryan picking up decision victories in both meetings.
