Investigation into shooting in UPMC Chautauqua emergency room parking lot is closed

The investigation into a shooting near UPMC Chautauqua on Wednesday afternoon revealed two people each died as the result of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Jamestown police issued an update around 1 p.m. Thursday. Officers responded to the hospital at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of two unresponsive individuals in a vehicle in the parking lot of the emergency department. Upon arrival, it was determined that the two victims were deceased. Two people are dead after a shooting incident outside UPMC Chautauqua. The hospital was on lockdown Wednesday afternoon while police investigated the incident. At 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jamestown police officers responded to the UPMC Chautauqua campus for a report of two people unresponsive in a vehicle. Through investigation it was determined that the two people in the vehicle were deceased.
