Golden opportunity

After weeks of hard work, the All-County Musical was ready for a preview on Wednesday.

Hundreds of Warren County School District students were taken to Warren Area High School for a one-hour preview of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'.

In the morning, the cast and crew put on a performance for the second- through fifth-graders from Warren Area Elementary Center and Beaty-Warren Middle School. In the afternoon, they did the same for the same age groups from Eisenhower, Sheffield, and Youngsville elementary schools.

It was just a shortened version of the show.

Director Jennifer Check talked to the youngsters about the importance of having live music performed by students and adults in the pit orchestra and about the lighting operators in the booths above and behind them.

She also left the curtains open for some set changes, giving the young students a behind-the-scenes look at the production.

Some of the students' contemporaries were called from their seats in the auditorium to join the production -- about 50 students in grades kindergarten through eight are among the children's choir.

The performances for the show will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, and Friday, April 1, and at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Warren Area High School.

Starting at /week.
