Lady Dragons get 3-0 non-region win

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Warren volleyball stepped out of Region 6 to take on North East, with a very common result – a 3-0 win.

The Lady Dragons took care of business 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 on Thursday.

Leading the Lady Dragons were Lydia Latimer (13 kills, 9 digs, 4 blocks, 1 ace), Celia Chase (10 kills), Lex Nyquist (31 assists, 13 digs, 2 aces, 2 blocks), Julia Lobdell (15 digs, 1 ace), Jordan Sitler (7 kills), Ellie Lobdell (7 kills, 7 digs) and Grace Wortman (2 kills).

“We did a nice job with the serve and pass game and played good defense which allowed Lex to distribute the ball to the hitters,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan. “Jordan and Ellie were both effective hitters once again and Lydia and Celia were also terminating very well. Grace and Julia had nice games from behind the service line as well as in the back row. All of our players were able to get in and did a nice job in their roles.”

JV lost 19-25, 25-23, 10-15.

Olivia English had 3 aces 5 kills 7 digs 2 blocks; Meredith’s Morrison 2 kills; Hannah Shattuck 2 aces 3 kills; Ailsa Boger 1 kill 4 digs; Katie Madigan 5 digs 13 assists; Jackie Peterson 4 digs 1 kill 1 ace; Isabella Shingler 11 digs; Cara Munksgard 1 kill; Halee Mineweaser 1 kill; Isabel Wortman 2 digs and Ellee Irwin 1 dig led the Lady Dragons.

Warren returns to action Saturday at the loaded Cochranton Tournament.

They will be in Pool B with Maplewood, Iroquois, Lakeview, Cambridge Springs and Meadville. Cochranton, Corry, West Middlesex, Conneaut, Northwestern and North East will be in Pool A.
