John J. Imperial

John J. Imperial, 94, of Warren, PA, died Sunday morning, April 1, 2018, at U.P.M.C. Hamot, Erie, PA., after a brief illness. He was born on March 30, 1924 in Warren, PA, to the late Leonard and Rose Muscaro Imperial.

John has resided in Warren his entire life and was a 1942 graduate of Warren High School. He had attended St. Bonaventure University on a full football scholarship and played for the former Warren Red Jackets semi-pro football team. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was formerly employed for 20 years with National Forge Company and had also been employed as a driver with Ed Shults of Warren. He was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church where he had served as an usher.

John is survived by 3 Daughters – Susan Haskins and husband, James of Russell, Pa., Deborah Heenan of Warren, Pa., Nancy Uber and husband, Dale of Warren, Pa., 2 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Willman Imperial, whom he married on June 2, 1951 in Warren, PA, and who died on December 19, 2017; and 2 Brothers – Eugene J. Imperial, and Leonard Imperial, III; 2 Sisters – Minnie Pollack and Dorothy Imperial, and 1 step grandson. Friends may call at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA, on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 10am until 11am at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Fr. Richard Tomasone, Pastor of St. Joseph R.C. Church, assisted by Deacon Joseph Lucia. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by members of the Clarendon/Sheffield V.F.W. Funeral Detail and U.S. Navy personnel.
