Kenneth Green

Kenneth M. Green, of 1601 Allegheny Ave, Warren, Pennsylvania formerly of 225 White Oak Drive, Allegany, NY unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, following a brief illness.

Ken was born Nov. 1, 1936 in Corry, PA and was a son of Lehman and Helen Garfield Green (Descendent of President James A. Garfield). On Oct. 20, 1956 in Olean, he married his wife of 60 years, Nancy D. Clayton, who predeceased him on June 14, 2017.

Kenneth and Nancy relocated to Warren Pennsylvania in June 2015 for a new life experience but unfortunately their time in Warren was short lived.

Both Ken and Nancy lived their life passion of ballroom dancing and developed the business Ballroom Artistry, teaching and competing which brought them a lifetime of fun and joy. Additionally, Ken and Nancy owned and operated several business ventures in the Olean area including real estate/rentals, The Weight Care Centers and Cinderella Poodle Parlor for more than 40 years.

Kenneth’s primary occupation was at Dresser Rand as an engineer, machinist and tool & dye maker for about 40 years, retiring in 1999. We all have precious memories of Dad walking to and from work every day for his exercise carrying his brown lunch pail.

Ken or Dad was certainly a jack of all trades, builder, remodeler, electrician, plumber, mechanic, etc. He could figure out everything and anything and able to fix or build what he set his mind on doing. We all learned so much from him and continue to apply in life what we learned from him.

Kenneth was also a very spiritual person and very dedicated to his faith knowing that there is something beyond life as we know it on earth. His last wishes; “accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, ask for forgiveness and to always observe the Sabbath. He said there isn’t anything else. What else is there?”

Ken is survived by; 5 Children Diane M. Green Babb of Olean, Daniel J. Green of Geneseo, Darryl V. Green of Warren, Paul D. Green and David J. Green both of Olean along with 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
