James F. Rose, 80, of Youngsville, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017 at the Rouse Warren Co, Home.
Jim was born February 12, 1937 in Warren, a son to the late James T. and Elsie (Cowher) Rose. Jim was a veteran of the US Air Force. He had worked for 37 years at the Blair Corp as a traffic manager, retiring from there in 1994. He was a member of the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville where he sang in the choir. He also was a long time member of the Youngsville Men’s Golf League at Maplehurst C.C. He also enjoyed bowling for a number of years. In his early years, Jim was very active in the Upper Allegheny Hot Stove Baseball League, where he coached, umpired and served as commissioner for a number of years. Jim and his wife enjoyed wintering at their place in Titusville, Fla. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending their many events.
Jim is survived by his children, Rob (Julie) Rose of Alexandria, KY, Scott (Kris) Rose and Bob (Lisa) Rose, both of Youngsville, and Michael (Korena) Rose of Warren, his grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Foster, Alison (Grant) Allen, Andrea (Adam) Gnessin, Karissa (Nic) McKinney, DJ Rose, Katie Rose, Susie Rose, James Davis, Casey Davis, Christian Davis and great grandchildren, Elias, Averi, Evelyn, Lilly and Maverick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharron Rose, on May 19 of this year, and a sister Nancy Rose.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 111pm at the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville, at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Nancy Schwanke officiating. Burial will be in Warren Co. Memorial Park.
