Barbara Anundson

Barbara Jane Anundson of Kissimmee, FL., passed away in her sleep on August 4, 2017 at the age of 93.

Barbara was born February 1st, 1924 in Trumansburgh, NY. To the late Raymond & Anna (Hilker) King. She was the oldest of two sisters and a brother, Donna Gafner, Ruth Walker, and Donald King who have all passed previously. She was a graduate of Warren Area High School, Warren, PA. She enlisted in the US Army in 1944 during WWII. She was honorably discharged in 1946 at the rank of Corporal. She was awarded the Meritorious Unit Service Plaque, American Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. During her return train ride home to Warren, PA she met and fell in love with Theodore L. Anundson of Sheffield, PA who was also returning home after the war. They married 3 months later and remained married for 39 years until he passed away in 1986.

Barbara cherished her husband and daughters and built a beautiful life for her family in Sheffield, PA. Surviving are 4 daughters, Deborah L. Bendix & her husband, Don, of Kissimmee, FL., Kristina L. Lindemann & her husband, John, of Ellicottville, NY., Pamela J. Moschberger & her husband, Fred, of San Mateo, FL., and Terri A. Swanson & her husband, Bill, of Myrtle Beach, SC.. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Bill Bendix of Kissimmee, FL., Marci Smith of Ocala,FL., Scott Stanko of Missoula, MT., Holly Alfaro of Lovettsville,VA., Clint Swanson of Pawleys Island, SC., and six great grandchildren. Barbara was also loved by her many extended grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara moved to Kissimmee, FL in 1997 where she resided with her daughter, Deborah and family until her passing. She lived a very full life and was best of friends with all her daughters. She enjoyed a few cruises over the years, fishing off the Cocoa Beach Pier, planting her little herb gardens, playing scrabble & her love for seafood.

A memorial service was held at the American Legion in Kissimmee, FL. A graveside and committal service will be held in Sheffield, PA on Monday, September 18 2017 at 11:00 am. In the Sheffield Cemetery.
