Helen Sykes

Born in Warren, PA on March 6, 1941, Helen was the daughter of the late Helen and Henry Long. Helen graduated from Warren High School in 1959 and went to Art School in New York City where she met and married William E. Sykes. Moving back to Warren and raising two children, Helen was the owner and operator of the popular hair salon, Cut & Curl. Moving to Clearwater Beach, Florida in 1976, Helen and her husband became the owners of 2 hotels where they lived and worked for the next 41 years.

Helen was the heart of a grateful family. A mentor to many and an example to all. Besides being an extremely successful business owner, she was, and will always be remembered by those who knew her as a strong, beautiful, creative and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Surviving is her husband, William Sykes; sons, Bryan Sykes of Clearwater Beach, FL; Brent Sykes, of Fort Washington, Maryland; Brother, William Long, of Warren, PA; Sister, Sharon Sanden of Morehead City, NC; 3 grandchildren, Heather Hagenburger, Garrett Sykes and Isabella Sykes.
