Mary Pierce Foley
Mary Elizabeth Pierce Foley, 88, of Warren, PA, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at the Rouse Home. Mary was born October 3, 1928, in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late Marcus Edwin and Mary Carlotta (Unger) Larsen.
Mary grew up in Clarendon, and was a graduate of Warren High School. After marriage to her first husband, James Pierce, she became a lifelong resident of Pleasant Township. She was a legal secretary for Mervine & Calderwood. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pleasant Township. She enjoyed boating at Kinzua, spending time at the beach; her vacation home in Florida; and the Fourth of July. She especially enjoyed family and entertaining her many friends.
She is survived by two sons, Darryl Pierce, and wife, Kathy, of Warren, PA, and Dan Pierce, and wife, Carine, of Spring, TX; one sister, Patricia Terry, of MD; three stepchildren; six grandchildren, Justin Wood, of Warren, PA, Erin Wood, of MD, Megan Pierce, of Scandia, PA, Courtney Pierce, of TX, and James Pierce, and Mary Pierce; also of TX; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Pierce; her second husband, Thomas R. Foley; and her greatgranddaughter, Holly Marie.
Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, on Thursday, April 20, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with The Rev. Sue Scofield, interim pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations be made in Mary’s name to a charity of choice.
