Reynold Flatt
Reynold L. “Renny” Flatt, 82, of Warren, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at St. Vincent Health Center of Erie, PA. Renny was born April 28, 1934, in Bradford, PA. He is the son of the late Louis and Harriet (Reynold) Flatt.
Renny was raised in Kinzua and graduated from Warren High School. He joined the Marine Corps and served during the Korean conflict. Most recently, Renny had worked for the US Forest Service, and had previously been a welder for PittDes Moines Steel.
Renny loved to give back to his community. He was one of the oldest EMTs in Pennsylvania, and a member of the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, having served eight years as President.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Juliann (Williamson) Flatt; sons–Michael Fisher, of Warren, John Matasich, and wife, Helena, of Derbyshire, England, Robert Matasich, and wife, Rona, of Olean, NY, and William Matasich, and wife, Donna, of Pittsburgh; sister–Carol McLain, of Sheffield; brothers–Dennis Flatt, and wife, Gloria, of Warren, and Gail Flatt, and wife, Rosemary, of Warren; 11 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Renny was preceded in death by a son, John Flatt.
A memorial service will be held at the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, 12 South State Street, North Warren, on Saturday, February 4, at 11 a.m., with The Rev. Burfoot S. “Buddy” Ward, III, pastor, North Warren Presbyterian Church, officiating.
