James Johnson

James Alan Johnson, 74, of Jamestown, NY, and formerly of Warren, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Erie VA Medical Center. Jim was born April 4, 1942, in Warren, to the late Ralph and Martha (Peterson) Johnson.

He was confirmed at Bethlehem Covenant Church, graduated from Warren High School in 1960, and served in Vietnam with the US Army from 1964 to 1966. More recently, he attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Jamestown.

Jim is survived by his sister, Joyce Ranade, of Gahanna, OH; two nieces, Elizabeth (James) Janis and Stephanie (Jeffrey) Krider; three greatnieces and one greatnephew.

Jim was passionate about all things old–both people and antiques. He was known as a talented watchandclockmaker. He was kind, compassionate, and funny and he chose to be the caregiver for several elderly relatives.

No calling hours will be observed, private burial will be held in Scandia Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Warren at the convenience of the family.
