Warren woman charged in indecent assault case

A Warren woman has been arrested for her alleged role in a man’s alleged indecent behavior with a 5-year-old.

City of Warren Police charged Nena J. Haskins, 35, of Warren, with corruption of minors — defendant age 18 or above, and hinder apprehension or prosecution.

According to police, Haskins participated in a pattern of behavior in which Gary L. McGregor, 30, of Warren, allegedly had the 5-year-old “grind and gyrate on (his) lap causing him to have sexual thoughts about the child.”

McGregor has been charged with two counts of indecent assault, and corruption of minors.

In the affidavit of probable cause, police said McGregor admitted that “he and the defendant (Haskins) would play around where she would get him sexually excited. McGregor then admitted that he would have the… 5-year-old… victim sit on his lap while he had an erection.”

Police said McGregor said the contact happened “almost daily.”

According to the affidavit, the victim told a child advocacy interviewer that Haskins said the victim should “say ‘no’ when asked about McGregor’s inappropriate contact.”

Police said Haskins admitted to telling the victim that.

She was arraigned before District Justice Raymond Zydonik on Wednesday and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29.
