Car fire delays traffic just outside of city

By Stacey Gross 1 min read

A vehicle fire broke out shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday in Starbrick -- on Route 6 west just outside the city.

One vehicle was involved, said Conewango Township Chief of Police Jason Peters.

City of Warren and Starbrick Fire Departments responded as did Conewango Township Police.

According to Peters, the driver of the vehicle believed that the transmission cooling lines began to leak, causing fluid to leak on to the exhaust and catch fire. Neither the driver of the vehicle nor the passenger were injured, and there were no injuries to firefighters, police, or passing motorists, Peters said.

Traffic was able to move past the scene of the fire soon after it broke out and the fire was contained within minutes of crews arriving. The car was to be towed from the scene, Peters said.
