Sheffield to host fourth Music on the Mountain

The hills of Sheffield will once again come alive with the sound of music.

Music on the Mountain will return for its fourth year at 7 p.m. July 27 at Sheffield High School.

This year’s lineup includes: Spartans, Nashua, N.H.; Legends, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Raiders, Burlington, N.J.; 7th Regiment, New London, Conn.; Les Stentors, Sherbrooke, Quebec; and Impulse, Buena Park, Calif.

A senior corps, Rogues Hollow Regiment of Doylestown, Ohio, will perform as an exhibition, according to Music on the Mountain Chairman Art Lane.

“Most of the corps have been here before,” Lane said. “It’s a good line-up.”

He said some patrons have expressed concerns after last year’s show was cut short due to lightning. The show will go on. In fact, the organization is already working on the fifth annual show in 2019, Lane said, and has plans to make it bigger and better.

Pre-sale tickets for the 2018 show will be on sale soon. Online sales will begin within the next three weeks at www.sheffieldmusiconthemountain.com. Starting June 1, tickets will be available at Gaughn’s Drug Store and Crone’s Drug Store in Warren.

Pre-sale tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students. The prices go up to $15 for adults and $10 for students at the gate.

For those interested in attending both the July 26 Blast in the Burg in Johnsonburg and Music on the Mountain, a pre-sale ticket package is available for $20.

All pre-sale ticket buyers will be entered to win four tickets to a Pittsburgh Steelers game and accommodations.

Proceeds benefit the Sheffield Music Boosters.

Anyone with questions may contact Lane at 730-7022.
