Crash. At 7:10 a.m. Monday, May 6, Jerry M. Steadman, 59, of Corry, was traveling east behind John A. Shetler, 26, of Sugar Grove, on Route 957 just west of Turnpike Cemetery Rd. Steadman said the heavy fog and sun caused him to not see Shetler’s horse-drawn buggy on the roadway. Steadman attempted to swerve to avoid hitting Shetler’s buggy but was unsuccessful. Steadman’s vehicle impacted the rear bumper and rear driver side wheel of Shetler’s buggy, causing it to careen off the road. Shetler’s buggy came to rest in the ditch beside the eastbound lane. Steadman’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane. Shetler was transported to Corry Memorial Hospital by Corry Ambulance Service for a suspected minor head injury. Shetler’s buggy was towed from the scene. Steadman refused medical transportation and reported no injury. Steadman was cited for following too closely.
