WGH Auxiliary hosts PAHA
Warren General Hospital is a member of PAHA (Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries), the Northwest Region of Pennsylvania. There are 10 Auxiliaries in the Northwest Region and, on Oct. 18, the WGH Auxiliary played host to them at the Conewango Club in downtown Warren.
The meeting co-chairs, Pam Lyle and Debbie Olson, planned the meeting with fall in mind and everything was coordinated in fall colors. Each attendee received a bright gift bag filled with goodies as they registered and a continental breakfast was provided before the meeting.
Pat Miser, VP of the NW Region introduced Rick Allen, CEO of WGH, for a few words of welcome followed by the Prayer for Hospital Auxiliaries and Pledge of Allegiance, led by Linda Keverline, WGH Auxiliary President.
The morning presentation by A.J. Harper, President of the Health Council of Western PA, was on “Current Healthcare Issues” and how they may affect small independent rural hospitals. His remarks were well-received and numerous questions were asked during the question and answer session.
Gwenn Scutella delivered the Invocation followed by the luncheon prepared by the Conewango Club.
Before the afternoon session began, the members were able to look over our “Showcase Warren” and Window Box Gift
Shop Trifold table. After lunch, Darlene John, RN, MSN with a background in Behavioral Health, invited guests to take a “Mindful Journey in Creativity in Adult Coloring” and had bookmarks and sheets to color as she spoke. Darlene noted the many health and mind benefits of coloring as a form of meditation.
A short business meeting followed and the invitation to attend the meeting in the spring was extended by the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary President.
