2019 season opens with classic rock

Summer may be a few weeks away on the calendar, but for music-lovers it boogied into town on Friday. Take Five took to the stage for this season’s first evening of outdoor entertainment.

A crowd of all ages gathered in the cool spring air as the band belted out classic and contemporary rock hits by the likes of Pat Benatar, Tracy Chapman, Journey, Led Zeppelin and more.

Take Five closed out the summer of 2018 and returned to kick off the 2019 season of Music in the Park Friday at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Warren. Live music is scheduled each Friday at 7 p.m. through the end of August.

The schedule of dates and bands scheduled to perform follows.

¯ Aug. 16 — Good Life Band

¯ Aug. 23 — Wheels & Heels

¯ Aug. 31 — Border Ride
