Lady Knights run to first Region 4 win

UNION CITY — Eisenhower’s girls cross country runners placed four runners in the first six places to beat host Union City, 26-29, on Tuesday at Union City High School.

“The varsity girls earned their first region win today,” said Eisenhower coach Darlene Beach. “They pulled together and did a super job getting the places we needed. Running a shorter 2.2-mile course is a different type of race. The varsity boys didn’t get the win, but continue to improve.”

For the Lady Knights, Emily Grosch finished second out of 10 in 15:58, and Peyton Kellogg was fourth (16:24), Izzy Grosch fifth (16:40), Callie Delp sixth (17:31), and Lillian Cathcart ninth (21:09).

In the boys race — a 39-20 Eisenhower loss, Ike’s Joe Mistretta was second out of 25 in 13:16. Other Knights included Alex Lund (sixth, 14:10), Mason Britt (ninth, 14:25), Carson Ferman (10th, 14:35), Brice Ludwick (15th, 16:04), Tim McCauley (16th, 16:18), Aidon Knowles (18th, 16:25), and Jonathan Bogniak (22nd, 17:40).

Starting at $2.99/week.
