Pinkerous takes Bill Law Memorial

Submitted photo Brock Pinkerous held off Bryce Davis to win the 30-lap Bill Law Memorial RUSH Crate Late Model Series touring event at the New Stateline Speedway on Saturday.

BUSTI, N.Y. — One hundred and fifty-six mounts in seven different divisions would fill the pits at The New Stateline Speedway for the annual Bill Law Memorial RUSH Crate Late Model Series event, on a pleasant mid-summer evening Saturday.

Youngster Brock Pinkerous would hold off the fierce challenges of Bryce Davis to bring home the loot in Stateline’s 30-lap Bill Law Memorial RUSH Crate Late Model Series touring event. This would be Pinkerous’s second career victory at Stateline, as he pocketed a cool $3,000 for his winnings in the annual showcase. Davis would have to settle for second, Greenwood, New York’s Austin Allen was third, Stateline’s local hot shoe Jacob Wilber was fourth, and previous Bill Law winner Jeremy Wonderling rounded out the top five.

Stateline regular David Parker would claim the Non-Qualifier Feature.

Crawford County native Darrell Bossard would keep just enough distance between himself, and regional extraordinaire Dave Hess Jr. to claim his second Stateline Super Late Model triumph of 2024. Bossard would hit his marks throughout on the slick motorplex surface, etching career win No. 12 in the Stateline record books. Hess Jr. would take home the bridesmaid spot, as Ryan Scott, Doug Eck and Greg Oakes would complete the top five.

Veteran Troy Johnson, coming off a big win at Lernerville Speedway last week, would show total dominance in the 20-lap UMP Modified a-main. Johnson would use his outside pole position to his advantage and never look back, picking up his seventh career feature victory in the class at Stateline. Butch Southwell in his best run as of late was second, Wilcox’s Tim Peterson with an impressive run finished third, CJ Ramsey was fourth, and Jason Brightman in his sharp looking No. 16 rounded out the top five.

Grandmaster wheelman Al Brewer, who is no stranger to victory lane, would show no mercy holding off the menacing challenges of point’s leader Zain Harvey to nab his first Stateline Speedway RUSH Pro Mod feature victory of the season. Harvey, the persistent Bradford native Harvey would finish second; Vaughn Nystrom, in another fine outing, would claim third; Nick Arnold would hold his own finishing fourth; and Jamestown’s Cody Rickard would complete the event’s top five.

The Pro Stock feature would end up being a real barn burner that would witness four different lead changes amongst four different racers in the 15-lapper. But, once the smoke cleared, it would be John Boardman’s No. 777 parked in victory lane. This would be Boardman’s first trip back to victory circle since June 12, 2022. Previous feature winner Jason Black, who led laps 7-10, would settle for second; Chris Withers was third; Tanner Ramsey was fourth; and early race leader Joe Stajnrajh rounded out the field’s top five.

Fredonia, New York’s Dan Bittinger would muscle his way around leader Domingo Echevarria on lap 4, going the remaining distance unscathed to pick up his second Stateline Challenger feature conquest of 2024 in the 12-lap nightcap. Previous outing winner John Mease was second; veteran Holden Heineman, with another podium finish, finished third; and Noah Zimmerman and Cole Susice would complete the top five.

It was all Ryan Card in his Mark Richards Rocket House Car-appearing replica, in the Sharp Mini Late Models main event. This would be Card’s second win of the season at Stateline. Following the Spring Creek throttle jockey across the line would be Rick Isadore, Terry Mealy, Rob Eaton and Chris Whyte, as the top-five finishers.
